It
was about half past noon on an hot summer Saturday when a sudden,
unexpected and terrible tornado hit the Brianza region, near Monza, on
the north side of Milano, a densely crowded and highly-industrialized
area.
Among
the others, the industrial district of Concorezzo suffered major
damages.
A
tornado is an extremely rare event in Italy.
Later
it was estimated to be of magnitude F3/F4 in the FUJITA-PEARSON tornado
scale, with wind speed up to 330 Km/h.
The
balance was 192 injured, fortunately nobody lost his life.
The
area interested was 20 Km long, but no more than 200 meters wide.
Our
company was exactly in the middle.
Luckily
nobody was
inside at that moment.
